Naughty-Cal

Hey T-Bloggers,

We've finally recovered from our turkey coma and managed to make it out of our jammies, just in time to show you our last style picks of the year...

We must say that in 2015, New Look have certainly stepped up their game when it comes to the latest fashion trends (not to mention the price - AFFORDABLE!). During our little day of sale shopping, we got so distracted by the new season collection. We instantly fell in love with these 'naughty-cal' themed shirts and could not leave the shop without them.

While styling these shirts, we felt very street inspired. Melisa picked these to-die-for denim dungarees which are so versatile throughout any season. As the weather has been rather mild this week, I (Melisa)
chose to pair them with this staple cotton shirt. However, when it's a little chillier these would look bangin' with a long sleeved polo neck jumper and booties. To finish the look off, I selected my classic summer strappy sandals from Public Desire (which look amazing with a tan -luckily for this shoot I had my pre-NYE Fake Bake tan sorted).

After my (Amy) very fun trip to the hairdressers, and reviving my grey granny look for the New Year, I was reminded that I needed to be a lot more selective with the colours that I choose to style. Blue is always a winner with grey hair, therefore I knew this nautical multi-striped shirt would look super funky. As a duo, Melisa and I love to compliment each others looks so I chose this black cord high-waisted skirt and tied my shirt into a knot, creating a cute crop. Edging the look up as always, I grabbed these striking heeled booties with fur lining (extra cosy).

Being fairly new to the blogging scene, we vow to get bigger and better in the New Year, bringing you all of our latest fashion favourites along with keeping you updated with our fun friendship and blogging adventure.

We hope that you all have a wonderful New Year, and end this one in style (with a bottle of Prosecco)...

With love,

TBOB & Jen Gibson xoxo

Knee Highs 'n' Knits

Having bare legs in the winter (especially in Scotland) is a little bit risky, but when paired with over the knee booties and chunky knits its perfectly acceptable – right? Before meeting the gals for a spot of lunch and Christmas shopping we decided that we needed to make the most out of the opportunity and snap some of our new favourite purchases.

OTK boots first emerged last winter, which was when we bagged ourselves ‘Highland’ – probably the most blogged about boot in fashion history designed by the shoe gods at Stuart Weitzman.  After saving all of our pennies to splurge on these boots last winter, we were delighted when the over-the-knee trend came back with a vengeance this season.  We feel that OTK boots are a wardrobe essential and as well as making a statement, have the ability to jazz up any outfit.

We absolutely love flaunting these boots, so when it comes to outfit building its all about fashioning bare legs and wearing mini skirts or skirts with split detailing.  However, if you want to opt for more of a casual daytime look, OTK boots also look incredibly chic when worn with skinny jeans.

Typically an oversized jumper is a vital piece to have in your winter wardrobe, especially for a lazy day chilling about the house. However, I (Amy) re-invented this basic knit and combined it with this edgy leather mini skirt.  Finishing the look off, I picked up this taupe fedora in New Look, which I felt was the perfect match for my much-loved Highlands.

For me (Melisa) a co-ord addict, I couldn’t say no to this unique two-piece knit from Missguided. As it’s seriously chilly outside, I was obsessed with the idea of this long sleeved jumper and maxi skirt combo. The leg split showcased my boots as well as giving off a sensual vibe.

We hope that you embrace the cold as much as we do – don’t be afraid to show off those pins!

Until next time,

TBOB xoxo

Angels Night In

As the ultimate lingerie enthusiasts (especially for anything PINK!) there’s no better gals night in than snuggling up in front of the fire and watching the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show – which is exactly what we chose to do on Wednesday night, whilst obviously wearing our VS comfies. After being bombarded with images of the models on Instagram, we just could not handle the wait to see the much anticipated show.

Let’s start with Selena – just about stealing the show from the angels, Selena Gomez fitted in perfectly on the VS runway, rocking a chic black mini dress with strapping details (WE NEED THIS IS OUR LIFE).

The wings – the most exciting part of the show - were absolutely incredible. Our personal fave was Lily Alridge’s firework inspired wings, which she wore strutting down the catwalk along with the $2 million Fantasy Bra. As you may know, being asked to model the coveted, gem-laden piece is a complete honour and we were so pleased to see the absolutely breath-taking Lily Alridge fashion it this year.

Without being too critical, in all honestly, this years’ Fantasy Bra did not WOW us! Although it included over 6,500 precious gems which were all set in 18 karat gold, the bra did not scream out Fantasy this year. Maybe it was the wings behind the bra that stole the show? Or maybe it was Lily?

Now let’s break it down…

Favourite model: Gigi Hadid (SENSATIONAL)

Favourite artist: Selena Gomez - Duh!!!

Favourite theme: Ice Angel

Favourite wings: Lily’s Firework Wings

We hope you enjoyed our little review! Comment your opinions below and let us know what you think…

Lots of love,

All Black Everythang'

Hey Hey Hey Tbloggers! Hope you are all well and like us enjoyed grabbing yourselves some fabulous bargains on Black Friday! Along with finally beginning our Christmas shopping, we were very much inspired by the black vibes that this past Friday brought. So much so, that we decided to feature All Black Everythang’ outfits on our blog this week!

If you’re ever unsure – black is the way to go. It’s chic, sophisticated and versatile – what more could a girl want! Our tip when wearing one colour is to experiment with textures, think outside the box and try new trends.  Amy paired her fave studded jeans with a lace up crop top and black leather jacket – creating an edgy biker style look.

However, it’s all about the accessories when creating the ultimate black combo! How cute are these studded booties from Zara for the bargain price of £30! To complete this outfit Amy styled a black fedora along with a snakeskin tote bag (the bag actually has a bit of a green tinge to it – but for the purpose of this shoot we’re choosing to ignore it)

During our Black Friday extravaganza we paid a visit to the brand new River Island store at the Fort – which if you haven’t yet popped into is A-mazing! Melisa bagged this leather gilet with a faux fur collar and zip detailing, which we thought looked killer with this polo neck jumper from Zara, and pleated leather skirt (its all about the layering baby). Lastly on the fall catwalks we seen a lot of quirky looking ankles boots, so we couldn’t leave the store without purchasing these patent (matrix) boots!

Thanks for dropping by and remember when it comes to fashion orange will never be the new black!

Disco Ballin'

Hello fellow fashionistas (well you must be if you’re having a nosey on our brand spankin’ new site) and a cosy little welcome to our first official blog post – how exciting (yay us!)...The Christmas ads are on, House of Fraser’s halls are decked, 'Tis the Season to be jolly, which can only mean one thing – PARTY!

In our eyes there’s only one way to start the party season: Disco Ballin’! We’re all about stylish glam and affordable fashion so this week we hit up Missguided and Pretty Little Thing and grabbed ourselves a couple of party season must-haves.

Unfortunately as we ain’t no VS Angels, and we don’t have legs as long as Candice, we need to accentuate what god gave and make the most out of a short/stumpy situation. For me (Melisa) there’s no better way to do this than with a little co-ord number. I chose to go for metallic chic pairing this a-line skirt and biker jacket with an essential black crop. To complete this look and give it some sex appeal and sass, I added my favourite Stuart Weitzman ‘Highland’ boots.

For me (Amy) lengthening is key. I bagged this sultry high-waisted maxi skirt with double leg splits (WOW) to give the illusion of my legs being that little-bitty longer. I paired this with a seductive strapped style bralette in burgundy – the perfect Winter colour. I couldn’t go any further on the Missguided website without treating myself to this killer fur jacket which can be styled from day to night (we LOVE it for night). Topping it off, I had to grab this seasons must-haves - knee high lace up heels (aren't they so VS?!).

That’s us for now, thanks for joining the party and checking out our first blog post. Please don’t be a stranger…

Lots of love,

TBOB xoxo
