Knee Highs 'n' Knits

Having bare legs in the winter (especially in Scotland) is a little bit risky, but when paired with over the knee booties and chunky knits its perfectly acceptable – right? Before meeting the gals for a spot of lunch and Christmas shopping we decided that we needed to make the most out of the opportunity and snap some of our new favourite purchases.

OTK boots first emerged last winter, which was when we bagged ourselves ‘Highland’ – probably the most blogged about boot in fashion history designed by the shoe gods at Stuart Weitzman.  After saving all of our pennies to splurge on these boots last winter, we were delighted when the over-the-knee trend came back with a vengeance this season.  We feel that OTK boots are a wardrobe essential and as well as making a statement, have the ability to jazz up any outfit.

We absolutely love flaunting these boots, so when it comes to outfit building its all about fashioning bare legs and wearing mini skirts or skirts with split detailing.  However, if you want to opt for more of a casual daytime look, OTK boots also look incredibly chic when worn with skinny jeans.

Typically an oversized jumper is a vital piece to have in your winter wardrobe, especially for a lazy day chilling about the house. However, I (Amy) re-invented this basic knit and combined it with this edgy leather mini skirt.  Finishing the look off, I picked up this taupe fedora in New Look, which I felt was the perfect match for my much-loved Highlands.

For me (Melisa) a co-ord addict, I couldn’t say no to this unique two-piece knit from Missguided. As it’s seriously chilly outside, I was obsessed with the idea of this long sleeved jumper and maxi skirt combo. The leg split showcased my boots as well as giving off a sensual vibe.

We hope that you embrace the cold as much as we do – don’t be afraid to show off those pins!

Until next time,

TBOB xoxo
