How To Style A Trench Coat

Whether you drape one over your shoulders like the extra bloggers we attempt to be, or slip one on to keep warm on a chilly summer night, trench coats are still completely relevant during the warmer season - aka coats that float our boats

We've partnered up with Jack Wills to give you the TBOB lowdown on how we would style up these statement heritage pieces with a modern, street-style twist. There ain't no doubt that the trench has been around for centuries and has been made iconic by some of the worlds most renowned style icons - did someone say Kate Moss?!

My (Melisa) ultimate fave from the current season Jack Wills Range is the 'Duncombe Trench Coat' in Stone. This style is giving me serious Burberry vibes at a fraction of the price. Get yours right now for only £89.95 - how can you say no to that! I've picked this style in Stone because it's a staple colour all year round, especially for the warmer months. I would opt for the go to Two Blondes One Blog vibe and style this lil number a black leather skinnies, a white cami top and a simple, chic pair of black barely there heels.

Anyone that knows me (Amy), knows that baby blue is the new black in my eyes. If I walk by ANYTHING baby blue when shopping, it has to be mine... So with absolutely no question, my fave piece from the women's trench coat range has to be the 'Dollyhill Swing Trench Coat' in Pale Blue. This coat screams summer cocktails with the gals, so for me I would pair it with a cute floaty mini skirt and a crisp white shirt tied up as a crop. It's a completely modern take on the classic trench and I'm ob-sessed!

If you ever have any doubts on how you would style one of these dreamy trench coats then our baes at Jack Wills have created the perfect guide along with some hot tips and history! Check it out here.

"Too often in fashion, the words ‘timeless’ and ‘iconic’ are bandied around to describe the pieces that appear on our wish lists each season. However, one such piece wholly deserves both accolades and that is the trench coat." - Jack Wills.

Shop the full range here gals!

Lots of love,

TBOB xoxo

There's absolutely no better feeling than spending the first day of the month off work, slayin' in some new garms and sipping on cocktails. Yep, it doesn't happen often for us!

On Monday we had the ultimate gals day, firstly getting all pampered up to shoot our brand new In The Style pieces. Before I start to blab on about how amazing our outfits are and how many cocktails we had, can we just appreciate how UNREAL In The Style is right now?! So so so many amazing summer pieces. And, can we also appreciate that hangovers are the worst - THE STRUGGLE IS REAL!

I (Amy) went for total holiyay vibes in the cutest bardot tie front playsuit. I can already imagine me wearing this on the beach in Cancun with a killer tan! I styled this with the denim jacket of DREAMS - it has an open back with huge rips. Coolest. Thing. Ever.

Melisa channeled total Sarah Ashcroft vibes in this oversized denim jacket with rose appliqué. Back details are errrrrrythang right now! Underneath was the cutest little white shirt with tie sleeves - this is the ultimate staple piece in our wardrobes this season as it could be styled with anything from mini shorts to cute culottes. For a cocktail date though, ripped jeans are the one!

We are officially on the six week countdown until Cancun and we cannot wait to shop all of In The Style's summer pieces! Are you gals jetting off anywhere nice?

Speak soon,

TBOB xoxo

Papped in Miss Pap

H e l l o gals...

It's Melisa here for a change, for once I'm spending a Saturday night on the couch whilst my fellow fashionista, sidekick Amy is out boogieing. It's been a while since I've taken the opportunity to write one of our blogs but after editing our snaps I couldn't wait to gush all about our new killer outfits!

This weekend we teamed up with the girls at Miss Pap to capture these uh-mazing looks. There's absolutely nothing more perfect in myself and Amy's eyes than when you get the chance to collaborate with one of your all time favourite brands - like seriously we could have shopped their full website...

After adding about 100 items into our basket, we decided to go for our standard coordinslaytion goals and opted for these gorgeous blue & white shirts. Seriously, if you're on the look out for some super summery, unique, stand-out tops then look no further than Miss Pap. I went for this gorgeous baby blue, off the shoulder, frilled-sleeve shirt. I was obsessed with the statement bow and obviously how the top cinched in at my waist. Keeping the look super dressy/casual I paired my top with these white ripped skinny jeans. It's safe to say I've completely worn out my trusty TopShop white Joni jeans, so I'll definitely be fashioning these babies multiple times throughout the season.

I don't know about you guys but I've been crazy inspired by all of the Coachella babes on Instagram, so when styling my hair for this look, I decided to add some cute lil' braids. I'm also completely obsessed with this tribal choker which is also from Miss Pap - like died and gone to accessory heaven.

Moving onto my number 1 bae Amy's look now.. Can we just take a moment to appreciate the sleeves and back detailing on her shirt!? Like Oh M G - lifeeeeee. (On a side note, we both can't stop using the word 'life' to describe everything that we are in love with haha. For instance, when we are shooting, if one of us calls 'life' when we are looking though the images then we know for certain we've got the money shot.

Anyway's back to the outfit, do you dare to flair? We did and we have no regrets. These flairs are so versatile, you can style them with a cute shirt like this or maybe opt for more of a night time vibe and pair them with a lacey bralette. Obviously in our eyes, no outfit would be complete without a choker. Since the sparkly choker trend emerged, Amy has always completed her looks by adding an eye-catching neck piece. I for one hope this trend sticks around for the long run.

If you've made it down this far in the blog - congratulations. I can definitely tend to rant on this a lot more than Amy lol. We feel our blog isn't the best platform to chat to you guys and we are definitely considering starting our very own YouTube channel. Let us know what you think by leaving us some comments on our Instagram @twoblondesoneblog.

As always, thanks so much for dropping by. We hope you too enjoy shopping all of Miss Paps new summer drops. Peace Out!

Belted Up in Christian MacLeod

Hey there strangers,

It's been a long time no speak as we've been spending too much time posing and not enough writing... But we're back!

This week we had way too much fun as we styled our new - and colour poppin' hot - belts from Christian MacLeod. The postman was our ultimate bestie for this one, and the full packaging was on point - branding goals gals!

Belts are something that aren't given nearly enough credit in the accessories department - they pinch in your waist, show shape and look hella good. Let's face it, if we weren't wearing our Christian MacLeod belts in the following two looks then the outfits would have been boring AF...

I (Amy) styled my hot pink and black buckled belt with this chic oversized sweatshirt - showing off some curves and adding a touch of Barbie! As you can see, accessories are clearly key in this look as I paired my denim OTK's with a handmade denim choker. Melisa's killed the street style luxe vibes in this baggy white tee with the denim jacket of dreams tied round her waist and leather skinnies!

For the second look, and of course with more denim, Melisa was slayyyyin' in her red snake print Christian MacLeod belt! Simple but chic styled with our fave flared jeans, striped crop and layered with the cutest black leather frilled jacket and black denim strap pies.

Co-ordinSLAYtion as usual, I worked the denim theme in my ripped denim jacket from Boohoo which complemented Melisa's jeans perfectly. Showing off that Fake Bake, I wore a black bodysuit underneath with the cutest leopard print skirt and black denim booties.

Dem red vibes poppin'! How would you style a Christian MacLeod belt?!

Lots of luvvvvvin,

TBOB xoxo

Two Blondes Three Courses

There's no better Saturday night out for two foodies than hitting one of the top restaurants in Glasgow!

This weekend, we were invited to Tempus Restaurant at the Grand Central Hotel to try out their new menu. From start to finish we were pretty much speechless - beautiful food and exceptional service...

After sipping on some rose wine as usual, I (Amy) selected the haggis fritter which was served with the tastiest whiskey cream sauce and rocket. Anything that includes rocket is a big YES from me lol! Melisa had chosen the creamed cairnsmore goats cheese cake which came with beetroot and walnuts - yummeeeee.

For dinner, of course there's no other option than picking two 8oz sirloin steaks with peppercorn sauce and chips. DREAM MEAL! We both had asked for our steaks to be cooked medium rare and there were no other words than perfect. The. Best. Steaks.

After a few glasses of wine and some time to digest the steaks, we just had to end with the chocolate indulgence - the softest brownie with chocolate ice cream on top. Every gals dream - aren't we right?! This was the perfect sweet to end an amazing evening.

Throughout our full meal we were treated like total royalty, The Grand Central truly do have the most amazing staff!
It was fair to say that no amount of cocktails was going to get us drunk after all of that food lol - so a quick cocktail and the last train home did it for us! We are getting old...

Have you ever eaten in The Grand Central? Check out their menus here.

Speak soon gals!

Lots of love,

TBOB xoxo

Are you really a blogger if your highlight isn't on fleek in your selfies!?

NEEEEVER... On a shoot day, the most exciting part has got to be getting seriously glammed up beforehand. We literally refuse to leave the house without our lashes and lips!

This week, we got ready with Technic Cosmetics and have never looked so good if we do say so ourselves... If you have never used this brand before then we  t o t a l l y  recommend it for you gals on a budget - it's super affordable and the quality is unreal! With a full face of Technic on, we were ready for the ultimate blogger pose off. Here's what we used gals...

Concealer - Conceal and Blend - £2.99

When it comes to shooting at the weekend, after a long hard week at work it's hella essential to cover those dark circles! This concealer in shade light is the perfect product to hide what you wish your mumma never gave ya and have flawless skin all over.

Contour -  Colour Fix Pressed Powder Contour Palette - £5

A perfect contour palette for only £5?! Died and gone to heaven. This palette has all the shades a gal needs for that chiseled cheek bone and nose contour. There's nothing better than colouring in a full face of contour and witnessing yourself go from a 2 to a solid 8...

Blusher - Colour Fix Blush Palette - £5

When you blushin' so hard! We cannot get enough of this blush palette as it includes eight different shades that would suit literally any person, occasion or season.

Bronzer - Superfine Matte Bronzer - £4

Put it this way, the tan ain't natural lol! The perfect way to finish off the base is with a flawless matte bronzer.

Highlighter - Get Gorgeous - £3.49

Our highlight hands down has never been so on fleek in our whole lives! We are obsessed with Technic's new highlight colours - 24CT Gold, Pink Sparkle and Peach Candy. These are the perfect shades to bring in the summer. They are so pigmented and we'd literally coat our full bodies in these if we could! Faves by far.

Eyeshadow - Nudes £2.49 / Colour Max Baked £3.99

There's nothing better than a neutral base topped off with a warm shimmer on our eyes. We mixed all of these nudes and layered the pink glitzy tones for a bitta glam!

Lashes - Natural Lashes - £3

I remember when we first started blogging, we were in such a rush one morning and hadn't did our usual full face glam. When we saw the images from that day we made a pact to always wear lashes and tan and have stuck to that moral ever since. These natural yet full lashes are all ya need to feel like a real girly girl.

Lips - Colourmax Lipstick - £1.99

Of course, the look isn't ever gonna be complete without the perfect lippy to compliment your outfit. I'm wearing nude while Melisa wears red - these are such great colours and lasted FOREVER!

Wanna WIN all of these products in the image above gals?! Course ya do! All you gotta do is head to our Instagram @twoblondesoneblog on Sunday and comment #LetsTalkTechnic on our pic, and make sure you're following us and @technic_cosmetics. Good luck!

On a side note...we shoot all of our pics with the help of a tripod and self-timer. Most of the time this is the result we get - fuzziness/unflawlessness. But hey we thought this one was cute!

Lots of luvvvvvin,

TBOB xoxo

Another day, another slay in our ultimate fave EGO booties…

Let’s be real, this is the cosiest and most weather appropriate look that we have done, and oh it felt so good shooting it! I may need to wear a scarf in every blog post now.

All we’ve been living in right now has been oversized knits and pyjamas - I’m sure you guys are guilty of this too?! Cosy is always key, so I (Amy) styled up my baby pink Missguided jumper with the coat of DREAMS. This was only £40 from H&M and I know is the type to never make it back into my wardrobe - it can be paired with literally anything to finish of a chic winter look. Huge scarfs wrapped round so that you can hardly breathe or see has to be my favourite trend yet - looking sassy while being as snug as ever - w i n n i n g!

Ripped denim is a big yes please for everything right now - from jackets to chokers to BOOTIES! The shoe lovers that we are, of course fell totally in love with EGO’s new denim styles. These ‘Shaney’ denim ankle boots give my ootd (outfit of the day to any non fashionista readers) a total freshen up, and I cannot wait to style them up with a little floral dress in the summer for a day of cocktails. A gal can only dream…

January blues? Yup, us too. Taking them blues into some chunky knits is the only way forward gals. Oversized is everything, so Melisa grabbed this jumper of dreams in a large for extra cosiness, sassin’ it up with a little black cowboy deet belt and black beanie - always a good accessory to hide a bad hair day lol…

Melisa is wooooorkin’ the OTK’s as always. These ‘Quinn’ ripped denim numbers are the perfect boots to give that street style edge to any outfit. And, they keep ya little legs as cosy as ever… Can’t wait to steal these babies and work them with a little band tee and leather jacket!

How are you babes surviving the January blues? Power through with sassy outfits and a large glass of wine, it’s working for us…

Lots of love,

TBOB xoxo
